Philipp Aerni is Director of the Center for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CCRS), an associated institute of the School of Management Fribourg. He is also a lecturer at the University of Zurich, ETH Zurich and the University of Basel.
After a diploma in Geography at the University of Zurich and a PhD in Agricultural Economics at the ETH Zurich, Philipp Aerni has conducted research and worked at Harvard University, ETH Zurich, the University of Bern, the University of Fribourg, as well as at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
As an interdisciplinary social scientist, his research focuses on the role of science, technology and innovation for sustainable development in general and the role of agricultural biotechnology as an enabler of sustainable intensification in agriculture in particular.
